vivo V80 Launch in India: 7,200mAh Battery, 50MP Zeiss Periscope Zoom and 1.5K 144Hz Display Announced

The highly awaited vivo V80 launch in India officially took center stage today at the grand vivo Next 2026 event held in Delhi-NCR. Unveiled on stage by Bollywood star and brand ambassador Sidharth Malhotra, the vivo V80 redefines the company’s camera-centric V-series portfolio, bringing flagship-tier imaging innovations, an aerospace-grade unibody chassis, and unprecedented endurance into the mid-premium segment.

Positioned as the “Flagship of Flagships,” the vivo V80 is notably the first non-foldable smartphone to arrive powered by vivo’s all-new OriginOS 7 platform, delivering a guaranteed 6-year smooth software experience.

1. Unibody Cold-Carved Glass Design & Display

Crafted through 33 complex physical processes and nanoscale laser cutting, the vivo V80 introduces a completely seamless, unibody cold-carved glass rear panel integrated alongside a minimalist floating camera island:

• Display Panel: 16.74 cm (6.67-inch) 1.5K Ultra-Clear Flexible AMOLED screen designed for balanced single-handed ergonomics.

• Refresh Rate & Brightness: Ultra-smooth 144Hz adaptive refresh rate paired with an ultra-low 1-nit night comfort mode for late-night viewing.

• Durability: SGS overall drop-resistance certified with high-grade front-to-back structural shielding, reinforced by aerospace-grade metal frames.

• Ingress Protection: Flagship-grade dual IP68 and IP69 dust and high-pressure liquid ingress protection.

• Biometrics: Next-generation 3D Ultrasonic In-Display Fingerprint Scanner that registers unlock commands instantly even with wet or greasy fingers.

• Color Finishes: Offered in three distinct color expressions — Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, and Stellar Black.

2. 50MP Zeiss Periscope Camera & Cinematic Video

The photographic architecture is co-engineered with German optics leader Zeiss, incorporating specialized glass elements and dedicated portrait focal lengths:

• 50MP Zeiss Night Telephoto Lens: Features a re-engineered triple-reflection periscope prism structure, delivering ultra-sharp optical range from 1x, 3x, and up to 10x lossless zoom without increasing the phone’s slim profile.

• 50MP Zeiss OIS Primary Camera: High-light absorption sensor capturing detailed HDR dynamic range in challenging lighting conditions.

• 50MP Zeiss Group Selfie Camera: Ultra-wide 92° Field of View with eye-autofocus, ensuring distortion-free framing for friends and family shots.

• 4K 60fps Dual Cinematic Recording: Both front and rear camera pipelines natively capture 4K video at 60fps, supplemented by three signature cinematic film color profiles (Vibrant Bollywood, Pastel, and Modern Movie).

• Festive AI Portrait 2.0: Tailored for upcoming Diwali celebrations, intelligently synthesizing ambient festive illumination, oil lamps, fireworks, and floral backgrounds.

3. Monster 7,200mAh Battery & 90W FlashCharge

The vivo V80 launch in India marks a major hardware breakthrough by integrating the largest battery capacity ever fitted inside a vivo V-series device:

• Battery Capacity: Massive 7,200mAh silicon-carbon cell providing up to 40 hours of continuous video streaming and 14 hours of turn-by-turn navigation.

• Rapid Charging: 90W FlashCharge capable of juicing up 50% battery in approximately 30 minutes.

• Bypass Charging: Power can directly route to internal system components while gaming or streaming when plugged in, drastically reducing battery heat degradation.

4. OriginOS 7, eSIM & Hardware Performance

• Software: Ships running the newly announced OriginOS 7, featuring an AI Security Shield, ‘Shake and Share’ 4K transfer speeds, and guaranteed 6-year system smoothness.

• Memory & Storage: 8GB LPDDR5X RAM with up to 16GB Extended Virtual RAM support, paired with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage variants.
